Lumpy skin disease (LSD) is a highly contagious viral disease of cattle and buffalo that causes relatively low mortality. It does not affect humans. The disease can result in animal welfare issues and significant production losses .Infection typically causes acute disease with: fever depression skin nodules reduction in milk yield abortion in pregnant animals. LSD is spread: by movement of affected animals by biting insects or parasites such as flies, mosquitoes and ticks by contaminated equipmentdirectly from animal to animal in some cases.This amplification kit detect Lumpy skin disease (LSD) via Real TimePCR. This allows absolute quantification or a qualitativeassay. Real Time PCR is based on fluorogenic dyes. Ct valuesbetween 12 - 36 should be taken as positive. Values between 36 - 40 Ct should be taken as marginal positive. Ct values above 40 must be considered as negative
