Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR), also known as sheep and goat plague, is a highly contagious animal disease affecting domestic and wild small ruminants. It is caused by a virus belonging to the genus Morbillivirus, family Paramixoviridae. This amplification kit detect Peste des petits ruminants via Real TimePCR. This allows absolute quantification or a qualitativeassay.
Real Time PCR is based on fluorogenic dyes. Ct valuesbetween 12 - 36 should be taken as positive. Values between 36 - 40 Ct should be taken as marginal positive. Ct values above 40 must be considered as negative
